Hello Farm Foodies,
You may have noticed that the time of Brussels sprouts is upon us.
I kind of feel about Brussels Sprouts the same way I feel about Neil Diamond. There are people who like Neil Diamond and people who don’t like Neil Diamond. In my case, if I meet someone who loves Neil Diamond, I suddenly feel like that person may not be “my people”. It’s kind of the same with Brussels sprout. you either love them or hate them. I was pretty much in the “hate them” group for most of my life. The only way I could choke those babies down was with a ton of salt and maybe some gravy on top. Yick. Not a veggie I would request.
But now, as an adult, I have learned that they’re not so bad. Actually, they are quite delicious, and kind of cute, like little mini cabbages. If you need more convincing, think about this…if you sauté something yicky with bacon, what could possibly be bad? So, here’s a delicious farm-to-table recipe for Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic vinegar. Enjoy!
Grammar note: You may have noticed that I spelled Brussels with an upper case B and ended it with an “s”. I was informed tonight by grammarist.com that this the correct spelling. If you really want to know more, click on that grammarist link. You’re welcome. 😉
